Job Description:
As a Lead Data Engineer at arenaflex, you'll be responsible for:
- Designing and building data warehouses: Develop scalable and efficient data warehousing solutions using Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, and other cloud-based technologies.
- Building ETL pipelines: Design and implement ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) to extract, transform, and load data into data warehouses.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams: Work closely with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions.
- Maintaining high-quality documentation: Ensure detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance.
- Ensuring high operational efficiency: Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support our clients' (Data Science, Data Analysis groups) obligations.
- Participating in agile/scrum practices: Be a proactive member and supporter of agile/scrum practices to ensure team well-being and cycle improvements.
Key Capabilities:
* Solid SQL skills: Ability to write complex SQL queries to extract insights from data and build performant datasets.
- Experience with distributed systems: Familiarity with distributed systems like Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process large datasets.
- Programming skills: Proficiency in Python, Java/Scala, and experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Large Query).
- Data integration toolsets: Experience with data integration toolsets like Wind current and writing and maintaining data pipelines.
- Data modeling and warehousing: Strong understanding of data modeling strategies and data warehousing best practices.
- Agile and scrum practices: Familiarity with agile and scrum methodologies and principles.
- Cloud computing: Experience with cloud technologies like AWS (S3, EMR, EC2) is a plus.
