Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Business Analyst to join the Asset Failure Analysis team. The ideal candidate will support data-informed decision-making by reviewing asset failure and historical performance data into actionable forward-looking insights. This role plays a key part in driving process improvements, forecasting, and strategic initiatives across the organization that directly impact reduction of wildfire risk and improvement of system reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational efficiency
- Develop dashboards, reports, and models to support departments such as compliance, operations, strategy, and wildfire risk
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs and measure performance against business goals
- Prepare and present findings to stakeholders in a clear, actionable format
- Support ongoing improvement of data integrity and analytics capabilities
- Assist with data extraction, cleaning, and transformation for reporting and ad hoc analysis
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a business analytics or data-focused role
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
- Proven experience analyzing and visualizing complex datasets
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Palantir Foundry platform or similar enterprise analytics tools
- Familiarity with the utility industry or infrastructure-related projects
- Exposure to SQL, Python, or other data querying languages (a plus, not required)
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
