Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for an Academic Mentor & Advisor for Student Athletes. The role involves mentoring and advising student-athletes to support their academic performance and goals. Responsibilities include providing personalized instruction in subjects like mathematics, assisting with time management and study skills, and fostering communication to ensure balance between academic and athletic demands. Additionally, the role involves developing educational strategies and offering encouragement to help students thrive in their academic and personal lives.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students and collaborating with other advisors
- Proficiency in mathematics and the ability to tutor this subject effectively
- Educational experience or background in teaching, mentoring, or training
- Ability to motivate and guide students to achieve their academic and personal goals
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is preferred
- Experience working with student-athletes or in an educational mentoring capacity is a plus
