Role Description This is a remote contract role for an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Member with a clinical focus. The IRB Member will evaluate research protocols ensuring adherence to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and participant protections. Responsibilities include reviewing study designs and informed consent documents, providing feedback, assessing potential risks, and ensuring equitable subject selection. The role involves active participation in virtual meetings and timely review of assigned materials to support efficient IRB operations.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of IRB processes, clinical research methodologies, and ethical guidelines, including familiarity with federal regulations (e.g., FDA, OHRP).
- Experience in healthcare, clinical practice, or biomedical research, with a background in disciplines such as medicine, nursing, public health, or related fields.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills to evaluate complex research protocols and assess participant safety.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear feedback and collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and impartiality in decision-making processes.
- Previous experience as an IRB member or in research oversight is a plus.
- Advanced degree in a relevant healthcare or scientific discipline is highly desirable.
