Wound Care Medical Biller & Coder (Remote)

Wound Care Coding & Billing Specialist (Remote) We are seeking an experienced Mobile Wound Care Coding & Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with wound care billing, coding review, Medicare Part B claims, denial management, accounts receivable follow-up, and documentation review. This role requires more than basic claim submission. The successful candidate must be comfortable reviewing clinical documentation, identifying coding opportunities, ensuring billing compliance, and managing claims throughout the revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation for coding accuracy and billing compliance.
• Assign, review, and recommend appropriate CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier coding.
• Prepare, review, and submit clean claims to Medicare and commercial insurance payers.
• Identify documentation deficiencies and communicate with providers when clarification is needed.
• Manage claims from submission through payment.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims.
• Research and resolve claim denials, rejections, and payment discrepancies.
• Prepare appeals, reconsiderations, and responses to payer documentation requests.
• Monitor payer guidelines and billing regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Collaborate with providers and staff to improve documentation, coding accuracy, and reimbursement outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of direct wound care billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, and modifier usage.
• Experience reviewing provider documentation prior to claim submission.
• Experience with Medicare Part B billing.
• Experience managing denials, appeals, and claim corrections.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with wound care coding and documentation review.
• Experience with advanced wound care billing, including debridement procedures and Medicare Part B claims.
• Experience with home visits and nursing facility billing.
• Experience responding to ADRs, audits, and medical record requests.
• CPC, CCS, CPB, or similar coding certification.

Competitive compensation based on experience. Only candidates with direct wound care billing experience will be considered. Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour Experience:

• Mobile Wound Care Billing: 3 years (Required)
• Mobile Wound Care Coding: 3 years (Preferred)
