Solar & Energy Storage Project Originator
Sustainable Strategies 2050, Inc. (SS2050) is seeking an energetic, results-oriented Energy Storage Project Originator to lead origination and early-stage development of distributed energy storage projects across select U.S. markets. The ideal candidate is an experienced originator/developer who wants to expand into high‑growth storage markets with a team that values autonomy, speed, and results. The position is fully remote, includes a monthly retainer, all development expenses paid, and substantial milestone‑based development fees. Primary Responsibilities:
- Identify and screen viable sites for standalone storage projects
- Secure land control agreements
- Evaluate buildable area, site constraints, and proximity to viable distribution infrastructure
- Analyze local, State, and Federal permitting, zoning, and land-use requirements
- Coordinate interconnection submissions with utility (and 3rd party engineer)
- Track and maintain organized records of outreach, diligence, and secured deliverables
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of solar and/or storage origination/development or comparable experience
- Self-starter that requires minimal supervision
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and remain focused on key objectives
- Effectively communicate internally and externally
- Flexibility to strategically manage negotiations
- Strong working knowledge of GIS platforms, public record databases, and the ability to analyze data to screen opportunities
Compensation:
- Monthly retainer based on experience
- All project development expenses paid
- Results-based development fees paid upon project milestones
About SS2050: Since 2009, SS2050 has been involved in the development of 120+ projects that are now operational or under development, comprising 600+ MW of generation capacity. SS2050 first began origination and development of distributed generation projects in the northeast US, then expanded to markets down the east coast and across the Midwest, and continues to grow its development pipeline to new markets in the US.
