Job Summary The Director, Property Risk Engineer (HPR) is responsible for conducting Middle Market field surveys and providing service support. This role involves both on-site physical surveys and virtual/phone surveys, with a focus on detailed assessment of operations, exposures, and control adequacy. The position aims to protect the future of the company and ensure profitability through development of internal technical capabilities and guidelines, as well as timely delivery of industry-leading safety and risk management solutions.

Responsibilities

Conduct on-site and virtual/phone surveys of prospects and clients to assess property. Perform detailed assessments of site operations, and evaluate complex property exposures and controls. Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations. Complete Loss Analysis Complete sprinkler plan reviews Summarize findings in internal reports with appropriate loss improvement recommendations. Provide support and recommendations to underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Prepare and conduct presentations to serviced accounts. Provide virtual and field training for junior staff. Participate in special projects and become a Subject Matter Expert in one technical discipline. Develop and contribute to internal technical standards, guidelines, and tools Timely communication with internal and external partners Required Skills Competency with NFPA and FM Data Sheets. Competency with Microsoft suite tools and applications. Good communication skills for working with underwriters, policyholders, and brokers. Solid time management skills. Experience with Nat Cat evaluations (primarily flood, but windstorm, hail, wildfire, etc. preferred). Ability to evaluate sprinkler system adequacy and calculate loss expectancies. Strong consultative skills and the ability to complete detailed reports and assist clients with recommendation compliance. Desired Skills Strong analytical skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Mentoring and training experience on technical & insurance topics. Education/Experience Engineering or comparable degree/experience. A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in a safety-related role; property and casualty insurance experience highly desired. Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as ASP, CSP, CFPS, or ARM is also desirable. #LI-JD1 #LI-Hybrid For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible. NJ/NYC: $144,100 - $194,516/year PA/CT: $133,300 - $179,964 /year Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
