[Remote] Business Intelligence Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Adelaide is a fast-growing measurement company that specializes in attention measurement and activation. They are seeking an entry level analytics engineer to help bridge the gap between data engineering and data analysis, focusing on building and maintaining data models and supporting analytics workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to maintaining a well-organized data catalog with accurate, accessible metadata for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Build, test, and maintain SQL-based data models in the data warehouse (Redshift) to support reporting and analytics
  • Help create and manage a clean, reliable reporting and semantic layer in Looker using LookML, ensuring business logic and metrics are clearly defined and reusable across dashboards
  • Work cross functionally across Account Managers, Customer Success, and Analytics to support reporting needs and improve data accessibility
  • Monitor data adoption and identify opportunities to improve data usability and self-service analytics

Skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a related field
  • Strong ability to write, optimize, and debug SQL queries
  • Hands-on experience with BI/dashboarding platforms (e.g. Looker, Tableau)
  • Experience building SQL-based data models in a data warehouse environment
  • Strong attention to detail in building data validation checks, profiling routines, and root cause analysis workflows
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working cross-functionally
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering) or a rigorous coding bootcamp with a portfolio demonstrating the above skills
  • Familiarity with semantic modeling tools (e.g. LookML)
  • Exposure to transformation frameworks such as dbt
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts
  • A Creative Problem Solver
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Familiarity with tools like Looker, Redshift, S3, and dbt
