The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Energy and Environment Cabinet is dedicated to improving the quality of life for Kentuckians by protecting natural resources. As an Environmental Scientist I, you will work on state implementation plans and maintain compliance with National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) in Kentucky.

Responsibilities

  • Review federal NAAQS updates
  • Draft revisions to the state implementation plan
  • Research applicable Clean Air Act EPA guidance documents for NAAQS implementation

Skills

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a natural, biological or physical science OR Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by 20 semester hours in a natural, biological or physical science
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
