Position Overview: Senior Data Architect - Voice of Customer Analytics

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Architect to lead the transformation and innovation of our end-to-end Voice of Customer (VOC) methodology. This critical role will help us leverage data-driven insights to enhance our customer experience across global markets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for big data analytics, architectural design, and turning complex customer feedback into actionable business intelligence.

This is a remote opportunity offering $35/hour, with flexible working arrangements that support work-life integration. As a member of our global team, you'll be instrumental in building systems that process millions of customer responses annually, translated across 10+ languages and implemented in over 20 countries.

Key Responsibilities

System Development & Integration

• Lead the development and maintenance of our new Voice of Customer methodology, sourced from Cornerstone and integrated with the Qualtrics survey and dashboard platform
• Collaborate closely with product and process owners, subject matter experts from Qualtrics, and our Agile technology team
• Work with application teams to define, frame, and capture business requirements for VOC systems
• Develop deep knowledge of Voice of Customer systems and leverage this expertise to transform data within the Cornerstone Big Data platform

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Design and build robust data model architectures to support optimal data processing and standardized metric definitions
• Enable big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions using transformational technologies including Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, and Python
• Develop innovative solutions ensuring data quality and accuracy through extensive testing at variable and use case levels
• Provide guidance to enhance capabilities and drive efficiency in computing systems using our big data ecosystem
• Proactively identify and automate manual tasks to improve quality and efficiency across our data processing workflows

Collaboration & Implementation

• Partner with global teams to prioritize, define, develop, and test data for various use cases as part of the VOC end-to-end methodology
• Drive user story analysis and elaboration, design and development of software applications, testing & build automation tools
• Facilitate cross-functional communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful implementation

Essential Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on development experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and shell scripting languages
• Strong understanding of development release management and troubleshooting for data-driven projects
• Experience in designing and implementing data architecture for enterprise-level solutions
• Proficiency in building batch and real-time analytical solutions using big data technologies
• Knowledge of data modeling principles and techniques for large-scale data processing

Collaboration Skills

• Ability to actively collaborate with relationship managers and product owners to understand functional requirements and convert them into technical deliverables
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders

Methodology Experience

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies of delivery where small increments of a product are delivered at regular intervals to business groups
• Experience with end-to-end project lifecycle management, from conception through implementation
• Understanding of VOC methodologies and customer experience analytics frameworks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services or payments industry
• Certification in big data technologies or data architecture
• Experience with Qualtrics or similar survey platforms
• Knowledge of Cornerstone integration and data processing
• Experience leading data transformation projects for global enterprises
